The Frances Drake Papers include a photograph album documenting her work for the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) in Uruguay, and elsewhere in South America.  There is also a small amount of correspondence to her family from South America, and a report to the YWCA from Argentina.</abstract>

         <p> Frances Drake (dates unknown) was active during the early 1900's with the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA).  In 1919 she left for South America to help establish the YWCA of Montevideo, Uruguay where she lived until 1925.  In addition to her work abroad, she also organized the campus YWCA at the University of Nebraska.</p>
         <p> No additional biographical information is available.</p>

         <head>Scope and Contents of the Collection</head>
         <p> The Frances Drake Papers include a photograph album documenting her work for the YWCA in Uruguay, plus other locations in South America.  There is also a small amount of correspondence (1919-21) to her family describing her voyage from the United States to South America, and a report to the YWCA from Argentina.</p>
