The Committee on Religion and Student Life (earlier, the Committee on Religion) was created in 1965 to consider issues relating to both religion and student behavior at Mount Holyoke College.  Records dating from 1966-1972 consist of agenda for meetings, correspondence and memoranda, reports, policy statements, proposals, lists, and statistics.

<head>Historical Note</head>
<p>The Committee on Religion and Student Life (earlier, the Committee on Religion) was created in 1965.  The new Committee expanded the purview of the Committee on Religion to include consideration of regulation concerning student behavior and other aspects of student life at Mount Holyoke College.</p>

<head>Scope and Contents of the Collection</head>
<p>Records of the Committee on Religion and Student Life contain agenda for meetings, correspondence and memoranda, reports, policy statements, proposals, lists, and statistics.  Issues reviewed by members of the Committee included the honor code, use of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, or drugs by students, regulations concerning keys for students, policies concerning speakers invited to the College, parietals, and chapel attendance by students.</p>
